Topic 5# Overseer Activity and Elections Rules
There have been instances of overseers being elected only to shortly drop into inactivity, even leave the region while their term is still running, this is unacceptable and we should have provisions to deal with these situations:
1.All overseers need to remain active and at least check in with the HO periodically at least one every two weeks(more?, less?), HO should be aware of this and if they notice someone has lapsed into inactivity or hasn't responded they should try to follow up.
2.If an overseer is not active within the deadline they should be ejected from their position and a special election should be held to replace that overseer as soon as possible, this replacement overseer will serve the remainder of the original overseer's term.
3.If an overseer foresees they will become inactive they should inform the HO for a leave of absence so their position is safe or if they wish to resign they should inform the HO ASAP.
4.Candidates for elections must remain in the region for the duration of their campaign and the election process, if at any time they leave during these periods they should immediately be disqualified.
5.The founders reserve the right to maintain a blacklist of individuals who are disbarred from elections until further notice (This is necessary to prevent individuals who have a past to gain power too quickly.)

That looks pretty good Noble, but wouldn't the weekly progress reports take care of #1.

Actually true but progress reports should be every two weeks instead of one week and they could be very informal instead of like a real report.Stretchington wrote:That looks pretty good Noble, but wouldn't the weekly progress reports take care of #1.

weekly would allow more to get done, because that would allow the High Overseer to detect inactivity faster

So it's weekly updates from the overseers? - the rest sounds good to me.

Plus if we stick to the weekly rather than biweekly, I don't have to change my campaign dispatch. XD

Reason I thought biweekly is weekly there may not be much to report whereas two weeks gives more time to get things done but Im totally fine with one week as well it will allow us to know activity levels better!

Hm, yeah. A fortnightly update would actual be better. And more formal.

that's 4 updates in a single term. We would make the updates public. I think it's a good idea

Maybe 4 public updates and 4 just to make sure the nations are staying active.
